Professor Boden will explore how encouraging empathy and communication between scientists and policy makers can result in better decision-making.
She will discuss her career which has focussed on mitigating risks to human, animal and environmental health security and sustainability in the UK and in the Middle East (Syria).
The event will be hosted by Professor Sir Peter Mathieson, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh.
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is one of the oldest veterinary schools in the world. Founded by William Dick in 1823, the School celebrates its bicentenary in 2023 marking 200 years of veterinary teaching.
This lecture will mark the close of RDSVS bicentenary celebrations for this year.
