One of the aims of Midlothian Council is to promote the benefits of active travel, enhancing the health and wellbeing of the local community and increase walking and cycling - this becoming the main choice for short, everyday journeys.
A consultation has been launched to gather your views on active travel in Midlothian by exploring a virtual consultation room and filling in a short survey that will be used to update the Active Travel Strategy, due to be published in 2022/23.
The strategy will set out new priorities and measures that can be taken to increase active travel levels, improve active travel information, access and infrastructure in Midlothian.
If you would like to get involved, visit the virtual consultation room which has information and maps relating to the current Active Travel Strategy (PDF). The maps give more details of progress made on projects previously decided on. This will help in filling in the survey and to inform the Council if you agree with the projects and if you think other improvements are needed not already included in the strategy.
Closing date of the Consultation is Friday 25th February.
Please view the maps with an interactive mapping tool or by clicking on the PDF versions in the current Active Travel Strategy.
Depending on government coronavirus restrictions and guidance, Midlothian Council will be placing printed copies of the consultation survey in a selection of community venues across Midlothian in the coming weeks and will let Midlothian residents know where they can find them.
