Moredun Research Institute have received a donation of £2000 from the Blackface Sheep Breeders Association in support of their research into finding solutions to combat diseases of sheep.
The Moredun Foundation is a registered charity that supports livestock health and welfare through research and education. Formed by farmers over 100 years ago, The Moredun Foundation governs the work of the Moredun Research Institute in Midlothian Science Zone, which is internationally recognised for its work on the infectious diseases of sheep and other livestock animals.
The Moredun group works to develop effective treatments, diagnostic tests and vaccines to safeguard livestock health. Many of the veterinary medicines and vaccines that are routinely used on farm have been researched, developed or tested at Moredun.
“We are delighted to receive this donation from the Blackface Sheep Breeders Association to help support Moredun’s research into diseases of sheep. Moredun has a long and proud history of working in partnership with sheep farmers to find solutions to combat infectious disease of livestock and this model of working has brought significant successes over the years.
"We would like to thank the Blackface Sheep Breeders Association for their valuable support.”
