Renowned as the world’s most recognisable quality management standard the ISO 9001 accreditation comes on the back of Edinburgh Technopole last year achieving the ISO 14001 certification for environmental management.
This follows a rigorous two stage assessment which involved a strategic gap analysis before the formal ISO 9001certification assessment process took place.
Stage one of this process was a review of Technopole’s readiness by checking if the necessary ISO 9001 procedures and controls have been developed. Stage two then focused on the implementation of the said procedures and controls to make sure that they are working effectively as required for certification of ISO 9001.
When awarding certification the auditors commended Edinburgh Technopole on the thorough reviews and controls it has over contractors activities, and the availability of management system information that was easily accessible in order to provide the auditor with verification.
Although the certificate if now valid for three years, there follows a continuing assessment programme for Technopole in order to make sure that systems don’t just remain compliant, but continually improve.
Park Manager, Judith Sanderson, said:
We are delighted to have achieved the ISO 9001 standard. Ensuring the highest possible management standards is key not only to set us apart from other science parks but also to guarantee that we continue to offer our occupiers the highest of management standards.
As part of the BEST Network Edinburgh Technopole creates a fantastic atmosphere for creativity and collaboration and we must continue to do all that we can encourage this to continue.”
