Members of the Scottish Parliament visit Easter Bush Campus
Published: 9 January 2019
Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) Richard Leonard (Member for Central Scotland) and Rhoda Grant (Member for Highlands and Islands) visited Easter Bush Campus on 9 January 2019.
The visit was made in advance of a Scottish Parliament debate on “Recognising the Life Sciences Sector in Scotland” so that the MSPs could learn about the work conducted at The Roslin Institute and gain further insights into the UK life sciences sector.
During the visit, the MSPs had the opportunity to visit the Roslin Innovation Centre – a hub for companies working in the animal and veterinary sciences, agri-tech and One Health industries.

The visit ended at Easter Bush Science Outreach Centre to see the laboratory that hosts school and community groups to attend workshops where they can conduct experiments with Institute scientists and vets.
We are delighted to welcome Richard Leonard MSP and Rhoda Grant MSP to The Roslin Institute. Our research helps farmers in Scotland and beyond to improve agricultural productivity and the welfare of farmed animals and it also acts as a magnet for attracting agri-tech businesses and growing Life Sciences in Scotland. Our Science Outreach Centre plays a very important role in introducing school pupils and communities from all backgrounds to our research activities and engaging their interest in life sciences in an informative and enjoyable way.
