Set against a stunning Midlothian backdrop, the large purpose-built nursery will provide children with the opportunity to grow and learn in a natural environment. Children will have access to a large outdoor space with fantastic views of the surrounding landscape and wildlife.
The new nursery on Easter Bush Campus will be led by experienced manager Doreen McMillan who will be supported by Karen Gilhooly, Business & Administration Manager, and Miranda Sleven, Deputy Manager. Doreen and her staff are a well-established team as they join the Arcadia family from the pre-existing Forest Friends Nursery at Roslin BioCentre, which has now closed with many of the tenants relocating to the Campus.
Doreen and her team have many years experience as well as a range of knowledge and skills. They are excited to take on this new adventure and look forward to expanding and growing in the years ahead.
Doreen, Karen and the team will support the children and their families as they settle in to their new environment and experience the excellent facilities.
There are three open-plan playrooms which accommodate up to 78 children and support free play and the free-flow access to the garden gives children the choice to play indoors or outdoors. The garden is an extension of the indoor environment and provides many learning opportunities for the children.
The large, open-plan dining rooms allows children to enjoy meals and snacks in a sociable environment. There are shared spaces between each playroom which allows the children to interact with different age groups, which helps transitions for children.
Nursery opening hours are 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday-Friday and 50 weeks of the year, closing only over the Christmas and New Year period and for 3 in service days.
Children may start attending from 6 weeks until they are ready to leave for primary school.
