Park life remains positive at Edinburgh Technopole
Published: 8 July 2020
The nature of science parks means they are continually developing and adapting to meet and exceed the needs and flow of occupiers; to accommodate expanding companies and create space for new arrivals.
At Edinburgh Technopole, the development of the Pioneer Building has created a brand new collaborative heart to this science and business park within Midlothian Science Zone.
Part of a phased masterplan, the new building looks out on the parkland setting and provides additional lab and office space, together with a restaurant, providing central indoor and outdoor gathering space that is also available for catering or private events.
The Pioneer Building has already reached capacity with occupiers that were ready to expand from their space within other buildings at Edinburgh Technopole. Syneos Health, a company focussed on biopharmaceutical solutions, has relocated from the Fleming Building to increase their space and the ground floor of Pioneer is currently being fitted out for Benchmark Animal Health, moving from Bush House into greatly enlarged space.
These moves are welcome to accommodate expansion of current occupiers, including Cambrex, a contract research organisation and Almac Sciences, a contract development and manufacturer for biopharma.
It is this flux, together with state-of-the-art facilities and communal areas that build a vibrant park community and opportunities to nurture collaboration.
If you want to join Edinburgh Technopole and be part of park life, there is space currently available.
The historic Bush House offers fully serviced office accommodation, with the more traditional office space now available in self-contained offices at The Cottages. Charles Darwin House has modern and flexible open plan space for office or laboratory uses.
