TomTom has decided to rent a floor of the Fleming Building at the science park on the Bush Estate just outside Edinburgh where it will house approximately 24 of the team responsible for upgrading and design of software for the renowned company, whose equipment is installed in millions of vehicles across the globe.

Commenting on the move, Judith Sanderson, Edinburgh Technopole Park Manager said:

“We are delighted to have attracted a company the size of TomTom to Technopole. We have worked very hard over the years to make sure our infrastructure and support network is amongst the best in the country and is able to support the kind of hi-tech, high-skilled jobs Midlothian has become known for.”

“As part of the BEST Network, the UK’s largest virtual cluster of privately owned science parks with sites across Scotland and England, TomTom will also have access to unbeatable support and the opportunity to do business with a huge variety of businesses spread across the country and we are delighted to welcome them to Edinburgh Technopole.”

Joe Dixon, VP of Advanced Development at TomTom UK said:

“We were attracted to Technopole not just because of the fantastic location but also the reputation of the park for providing the kind of first class infrastructure and support that a business like ours needs.”

“The staff based at Edinburgh Technopole will be working to ensure that TomTom remains at the cutting edge of software innovation and data management to ensure that our products and services maintain their world class reputation and we look forward to working with Technopole and the other BEST Network sites and companies to make that a reality.”
