Clean Growth Fund (CGF) is collaborating with the Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA) to host an investment clinic on Tuesday, March 11, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM GMT. This in-person event will take place at CodeBase, 37a Castle Terrace, Edinburgh EH1 2EL, and is designed to support bioeconomy start-ups in securing vital investment.

About the Event

The CGF-BBIA BioInvest Clinic is a 7-hour 30-minute interactive session, bringing together pioneering entrepreneurs and expert investors. Hosted by Barclays Eagle Labs, this event provides an opportunity for start-ups to pitch directly to the CGF investment team, receive immediate feedback, and engage in valuable networking with fellow innovators.

About Clean Growth Fund

Clean Growth Fund is a £101m climate venture capital fund, dedicated to empowering UK cleantech entrepreneurs with expertise and capital to combat the climate crisis. CGF focuses on innovations capable of significantly reducing CO2-equivalent emissions and typically makes initial investments between £500k and £5m during Seed or Series A stages.

Who Should Apply

Biobased or bioeconomy start-ups seeking investment are invited to participate if they meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a UK-based business

  • Seeking £500k - £5m in investment

Application Process

Due to limited spaces, selection will be based on a short application form, requiring responses (no more than 250 words per answer) to the following questions:

  1. Briefly describe your company or innovation.

  2. What problem does your company or innovation solve?

  3. What is your stage of technology (TRL)?

  4. What funding stage are you currently at?

  5. Additional details about your team, funding received to date, etc.

  6. Are you currently fundraising?

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by February 28, 2025, and allocated a pitching timeslot upon confirmation.
