Midlothian Science Zone Business Forum: Stress busting – the 1,2,3 approach

  • Edinburgh Technopole - Pioneer Group Milton Bridge Penicuik, Scotland, EH26 0BB United Kingdom (map)

Midlothian Science Zone (MSZ) Business Forum is hosted several times a year to encourage engagement and collaboration between organisations 'in the zone'. We aim to bring together a wide range of businesses to identify shared support needs, collaborative opportunities and share knowledge across the region; signposting to research, expertise and business services. Guest speakers are invited to present on themes of interest and benefit to our community.

Our final Business Forum of 2024 will be hosted on Tuesday 3rd December on Pioneer - Edinburgh Technopole at Bush House in the Redwood Boardroom with guest speaker Kate Flory, Certified Confidence and Mental Fitness Coach.

Kate has been coaching and training for 22 years. Her belief is that radical change is inspired by one conversation at a time. She brings practical and easy to use solutions through compassionate challenge, supporting individuals, teams and organisations with coaching, leadership and mental fitness.

We all have those inner critical voices, that during different times of our life can sound louder or feel more debilitating. Ideally, we need to view the world positively 75% of our time, to live a happier, longer and healthier life. Sadly, not many of us do.

In this interactive session you’ll be reminded where you hold stress, discover some of your critical voices, and how to shift your mindset, and give you a broader understanding around how to train your negative mind.

The session will focus on:

  • Understanding how your body and mind reacts to stressful situations

  • The 1,2,3 steps to managing your mind

  • Discovering your loudest and most impactful critical voice(s).

  • In the moment tools to quieten your critical mind

If you are curious to explore how your mind can move from negative to positive in minutes, learning some quick and easy mindfulness tools that can be used both at work and at home this is for you, so come along and have a chance to learn more and meet others from the zone.

There is a wealth of facilities and services across 'the zone' which are accessible to tenant companies, researchers and business. Our events provide a forum to highlight expertise and showcase research, core capabilities, support and services available, to ignite discussion and opportunities for collaboration with hosts and attendees.
